M-15 & AR-10 Armorer's School
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This two-day course focuses on operation and maintenance of M-15 and AR-10 ArmaLite firearms. (The course is applicable to all AR-style firearms regardless of manufacturer.) Particular attention will be paid to the firearm's cycle of operation as well as all maintenance echelons of disassembly, reassembly and troubleshooting.
The course format is a combination of lecture, discussion, and hands-on work with AR-style firearms. Click on the Course Outline below for a detailed outline: Armorer's Course Outline
All class materials except the student's firearms will be provided by ArmaLite. This includes printed material and all tools and gages needed for disassembly, inspection, maintenance, and reassembly.
Meals will not be provided.
A written examination will be conducted at the end of the course. Successful graduates will be certified as ArmaLite qualified armorers.
Class sizes are normally 10 to 25 students depending on the capacity of the host location.
STUDENT PREREQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS: There are no prerequisites to this course. However, students are expected to have a basic familiarity with firearms and firearms safety. Previous experience as a user of an AR-style firearms is helpful.
Each student will be required to bring an AR-style firearm to use as his training firearm for all aspects of the course. (See COSTS section below for exceptions)
NOTE: NO LIVE AMMUNITION OR LOADED FIREARMS OF ANY CALIBER WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM!
COURSE MATERIALS: Students will be given their own copies, to keep, of ArmaLite's M-15 (or AR-10) Owner's Manual, the Army's TM 9-1005-319-23&P Maintenance Manual, applicable ArmaLite Tech Notes, and other handouts as appropriate.
ArmaLite will provide appropriate tools and gages for use at the course. Tools and gages used in the course will NOT be given to the students to take home.
COSTS: --Tuition for courses held at ArmaLite: $250 per student --Tuition for courses held at other locations: $300 per student --If a student cannot provide his own training firearm, ArmaLite MAY be able to provide one for a rental fee of $100. If you need such a firearm, discuss availability with one of the ArmaLite POC's listed below.
--(NOTE: $75 of the tuition fee is non-refundable if the student should withdraw or not show.) --(NOTE: An additional late registration fee of $50 will be required of any registration made less than 7 days prior to course start date.) --(NOTE: Businesses/organizations may request closed classes solely for their employees.
